Protein synthesis inhibitor in vitro by suppression of the release of newly formed proteins from the ribosomes. Antitubercular agent. Active against Mycobacteria. Inhibits TPA-induced ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) activity in mice. Suppressed mouse skin tumor promotion.
