A member of the leucomycin family of macrolide antibiotics produced by Streptomyces kitasatoensis. May overcome anticancer drug resistance by inhibiting the binding of vinblastine or cyclosporin A to P-glycoprotein (Pgp). An antimicrobial against a wide variety of pathogens.
