(±)-Talinolol is a β1-selective adrenoceptor antagonist well known for its cardioprotective and antihypertensive activity. By blocking β1-adrenergic receptors, talinolol delays the conduction of stimuli in the AV node, reduces the sino-atrial conduction time, and impedes the sinus node automaticity.

Silymarin is a mixture of natural compounds isolated from milk thistle and used as a herbal remedy. (±)-Taxifolin is a flavanonol contained in silymarin, as well as other plant extracts. It is the dihydro form of quercetin, a flavonol with antioxidant properties.
