Sodium tartrate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) as a direct human food ingredient. It acts as an emulsifier and pH control agent in food products. This compound is commonly used as an emulsifier in cheese/cheese spread products and is not to exceed 4% concentration.

Magnesium chloride. An inorganic compound consisting of one magnesium and two chloride ions. The compound is used in medicine as a source of magnesium ions, which are essential for many cellular activities. It has also been used as a cathartic and in alloys.

Calcium chloride dihydrate is used as a sequestrant and firming agent in food products.
