Lysophosphatidylcholines
Lysophosphatidylcholines are a class of chemical compounds which are derived from phosphatidylcholines. Lysophosphatidylcholine is produced from phospholipids by the action of phospholipase A2 (PLA2). It also has pro-inflammatory properties through its activation and modulation of various signaling pathways, including the ERK pathway as well as through protein tyrosine kinase and G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signal transduction. It plays a critical role in allergic airway disease manifestation.
