Solithromycin
Solithromycin is an orally bioavailable antimicrobial agent that inhibits cell viability, protein synthesis, and growth rate of Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Haemophilus influenzae with IC50 values of 7.5 ng/mL, 40 ng/mL, and 125 ng/mL, respectively.Solithromycin inhibits protein biosynthesis by binding to the large 50S subunit of the ribosome.
