Pentadecane is a floral volatile antimalarial agent that can inhibit the growth of parasites such as Leishmania and avoid infection of macrophages. The IC₅₀s of Pentadecane against promastigotes and amastigotes are 65.3 μM and 60.5 μM, respectively. Pentadecane also has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities^[1][2].
