Salcaprozate sodium
Salcaprozate sodium (SNAC) is an oral absorption promoter, with potential as a delivery agent for oral forms of heparin and insulin. It is intestinal permeation enhancer (PE) that increase passive transcellular permeation across small intestinal epithelia based on increased lipophilicity arising from non-covalent macromolecule complexation. It can be used in manufacturing uncoated oral tablet, by blending the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) using conventional processes.
