Vinyltris(Tert-Butylperoxy)Silane

Vinyltris(tert-butylperoxy)silane is a thermally and chemically stable organosilicon compound that has been used as an additive in polyolefins, and as a catalyst for the preparation of polyurethanes. It has also been used as a crosslinking agent for carboxymethylcellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, and cellulose acetate to produce water-resistant coatings. The vinyl group reacts with molybdenum trioxide to form siloxane bonds between adjacent molecules of polymers. Vinyltris(tert-butylperoxy)silane is a calcium stearate additive that reduces the tendency for carboxymethyl cellulose to become sticky or tacky when exposed to heat and humidity. This product can be found in products such as cosmetics and anti-aging treatments.
