5-(N,N-Hexamethylene)-amiloride
5-(N,N-Hexamethylene)-amiloride (Hexamethylene amiloride; HMA) is a potent inhibitor of the Na⁺/H⁺ exchanger, lowering intracellular pH and inducing apoptosis. It also inhibits the HIV-1 Vpu virus ion channel and suppresses replication of mouse hepatitis virus (MHV) and human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E) in cultured L929 cells, with EC₅₀ values of 3.91 μM and 1.34 μM, respectively.
