Hexamethylenediamine
Hexamethylenediamine (1,6-Diaminohexane) is a linear aliphatic diamine. It reacts with various inorganic acids to afford mono and diacid salts. It can be prepared from adipic dinitrile via catalytic hydrogenation reaction. Hexamethylenediamine is a useful industrial intermediate widely used in the production of aliphatic and semi-aromatic polyamides. Analysis of 1,6-hexamethylenediamine (HDA) in aqueous solution, human urine and plasma by capillary gas chromatographic method with thermionic specific detection has been reported.
