Sorbic Acid inhibits growth of fungi, yeast, mold and some bacteria and is nearly nontoxic to humans. It’s a natural preservative that comes from the rowan berries, Sorbus aucuparia (family Rosaceae) and widely used in foods, drugs, and cosmetic products as preservatives.
