Dinitrosalicylic acid hydrazide (3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid hydrazide, DNSH) is a toxic metabolite of the antibiotic Nifursol. Nifursol is used in the prevention of histomoniasis in chickens and turkeys. Histomoniasis is potentially fatal disease cause by the protozoan Histomonas meleagridis.
