(-)-Hydroxycitric acid lactone catalyzes the extramitochondrial cleavage of citrate to oxaloacetate and acetyl-CoA, limits the availability of acetyl-CoA units required for fatty acid synthesis[2].In Vivo: (-)-Hydroxycitric acid lactone (1000-3000mg/kg; fed for a period of 4 weeks) significantly decreases body weight at 2000 and 3000 mg/kg in chicken[2].
