(2R,5S)-2,5-Dimethyl-1-propyl-3-(o-tolyl)imidazolidin-4-one is an analogue of 2,5-Dimethyl-3-(2-methylphenyl)-1-propylimidazolini-4-one (D477055), an impurity of Prilocaine (Prilocaine Hydrochloride P725000). Prilocaine is a local anesthetic of the amino amide type and is often used in dentistry. Prilocaine is also often combined with lidocaine as a preparation for dermal anesthesia (lidocaine/prilocaine or EMLA) towards the treatment of conditions like paresthesia.
