(2R)-5-Methoxy-1,3-oxathiolane-2-methanol 2-Benzoate is an intermediate of Lamivudine, a potent nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor and antiviral agent. Lamivudine has also been used for treatment of chronic hepatitis B.
